How do Fathers Obtain more Visitation Rights?

You are a loving, dedicated father but you do not see your children as much as you would like.  Perhaps the children have directly asked you why they cannot see you more.  You have asked the children’s mother for more time, but you keep getting stalled, ignored, or denied.  What can you do?

Why Seek Out Sacramento Father's Rights Attorneys?

A current in-vogue issue among men is advocating for their child custody rights.  As Father’s Rights Attorneys, we find that many men come into our office assuming the Sacramento child custody system is biased against them and biased in favor of women.  They assume the Sacramento child custody mediators will favor their ex-wife or ex-girlfriend and will rob them of time with their children.

What is a 3110 Custody Evaluation?

In all Sacramento child custody actions, the parties are required to attend and complete Sacramento custody mediation before a judge will hear the Sacramento child custody case.  In particularly contested or complex Sacramento child custody actions, standard custody mediation may be insufficient to resolve the issues.  In these special circumstances, the court can order a 3110 custody evaluation.  In Sacramento county family law cases, a 3110 custody evaluation will cost at least $1,500, and often times more.  The requesting party will usually be ordered to pay for the cost, subject to the court’s right to later order the other party to reimburse some of the cost.  This matter is completely within the court’s discretion.

Which is the correct choice for me - Sacramento Custody Mediation through Family Court Services or a Private Mediator?

In all Sacramento child custody actions, the parties are required to attend and complete Sacramento custody mediation before a judge will hear the child custody case.  This Sacramento custody mediation can be done free of charge through Sacramento Family Court Services (FCS) or it can be done through paid private custody mediation.  The advantage of going through FCS is that the mediator is paid through the county and attending is more convenient and quick.  The disadvantage of going through FCS is that you have little control over which mediator is selected and the quality of mediation result is not always satisfactory to both parents.
