California entertainment fans may be interested to learn that Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott owes his former wife around $45,000 in back child support and alimony payments. The reality TV star dumped his ex for Spelling, best known for “Beverly Hills, 90210,” in 2005.

According to various media reports, McDermott stopped making all support payments in February, and he and Spelling are broke and living paycheck to paycheck. This summer, the couple reportedly held a garage sale to raise funds and moved their family of six to a smaller house soon after. It’s their third relocation in two years.

McDermott and Spelling have been through some tough times. In 2013, McDermott, 48, admitted he cheated on his wife with a Canadian woman and then checked into a drug and alcohol rehab facility. The couple were shown working out their marital issues on the Lifetime reality TV show, “True Tori.” However, earlier this year, McDermott told the media he’s done airing the couple’s dirty laundry on national television, claiming it’s “not the way to go about it.”

Spelling is the daughter of the late Aaron Spelling. The legendary TV producer created a long list of iconic TV shows, including “The Love Boat,” “Dynasty,” “Charlie’s Angels,” “Charmed” and “7th Heaven.”

A California parent who is having difficulty collecting court-ordered alimony payments may benefit by speaking with a lawyer. After learning the details of the case, legal counsel could pursue the most appropriate forms of spousal support collection to ensure their client is able to maintain their standard of living.
