California residents may have heard about the divorce of Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose. The former couple has a 3-year-old son named Sebastian. According to reports, Rose and Khalifa recently reached a divorce settlement. The two ex-spouses were spotted celebrating their divorce settlement by going to a strip club together.
Khalifa and Rose reportedly signed a prenuptial agreement before they were married. In accordance with the prenup, Khalifa will pay Rose $1 million to settle the divorce. Rose will also get $14,800 per month in child support for the care of Sebastian. Khalifa retains a home in Pennsylvania along with 10 cars. His car collection includes a 1968 Camaro, a 1964 Impala and a Porsche.
Khalifa has reportedly paid Rose $356,000 towards the $1 million that he owes her to settle the divorce. He must pay the remaining $644,000 and keep up with the regular monthly child support payments that total $177,600 per year. There were no reports of any monthly spousal support payments. In high asset divorces, the higher-earning spouse will sometimes offer the lower-earning spouse a lump sum payment in order to avoid ongoing spousal support.
Typically, child support payments are calculated based on the state’s child support guidelines. If a judge does not have an accurate accounting of the incomes and expenses of both parents, a child support order may be unaffordable for the paying parent or insufficient for the expenses of the receiving parent. A family law attorney can help to ensure that the judge has accurate and complete financial information.
