Changes Coming for Commissioner Ross of Placer County Superior Court

by | Dec 8, 2012 | Firm News |

Effective January 1, 2013 Commissioner Ross of Placer County Superior Court will not longer be handling family law matters. He will be replaced by Judge Horst.

The court schedule in the family law department will also change slightly. Judge Horst will handle cases that end with an even number, and Commissioner Amara will continue to handle cases that end in an odd number. Judge Horst and Commissioner Amara will continue to alternate weeks being in Department 41 of the Santucci Justice Center in Granite Bay one week, and in trial at the Auburn Courthouse the next week. Ex Parte motions will be heard in Department 41 of the Santucci Justice Center in Granite Bay at 8:30am Monday through Friday. At 9:00am on Mondays, the Court will hear domestic violence restraining order cases in Department 41. The start times on non-ex parte hearings will change from the current 9:30am, 10:30am, 1:30 pm to 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, and 1:00pm. This will be a nice change so that the Court has the first 30 minutes of every day to hear ex parte matters. Attorney represented cases will be heard on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Parties representing themselves (Pro Per Cases) will be heard on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
