Louis Tomlinson, a member of the pop group One Direction, has reportedly agreed to pay his ex-girlfriend’s $6,000 per month rent for a house in California. The rent is part of a child support agreement that was worked out for the care of Tomlinson’s new baby boy, born on Jan. 22. The day after his baby was born, Tomlinson expressed his happiness about the birth on Twitter.

The total amount of child support that Tomlinson has agreed to pay to his ex is around $14,400. After the rent is paid for the four-bedroom house in Calabasas, the remainder of the child support might be spent on clothing, toys and diapers for the child. According to a report, the 24-year-old singer has been generous in the amount he offered his ex-girlfriend, and he is taking his responsibility as a father very seriously.

The child support that Tomlinson has offered for the care of his son is reportedly not pleasing to his ex-girlfriend or her family. An inside source told reporters that the family of Tomlinson’s ex-girlfriend had expectations that the monthly child support amount would be higher.

Several different factors are taken into consideration when a judge makes a decision about child support payments. A judge may look at the incomes of both parents, the financial needs of the child and any child support obligations that the noncustodial parent may have for other children. A divorcing parent who is seeking child support payments may want to have representation from an attorney. During court appearances, an attorney may help the parent to present an accurate picture of all of the factors that are relevant to a child support calculation.
